About

Built in Kenya. Shared With the World.

Safari Kenya Explorer began with a simple belief: the best safari stories should come from the people who live close to the land.

We are a small, volunteer-led team based in Kenya, sharing real safari experiences, wildlife knowledge, and travel guidance shaped by firsthand journeys—not sponsored itineraries or tour company agendas.

Everything you read here is created with care, respect for nature, and a deep love for Kenya's wild places.

Why We Do This

We've seen how overwhelming safari planning can be—conflicting advice, hidden promotions, and polished stories that don't reflect reality.

Safari Kenya Explorer exists to offer something different: honest guidance, cultural respect, and practical insight rooted in lived experience.

We are committed to:

  • Independent, experience-based storytelling
  • Respect for wildlife and local communities
  • Sharing knowledge freely, without pressure

Meet the Team

Michael Kimanzi

Founder & Chief Volunteer
Michael is happiest on dusty roads at sunrise, camera in hand, chasing stories most travelers never notice. When he’s not exploring Kenya’s parks, he’s reading travel memoirs, experimenting with bush photography, or planning “quick trips” that somehow turn into long adventures.

Hobbies: Safari travel, photography, long road trips, journaling

Fun fact: Michael insists he can identify animals by sound—but occasionally mistakes goats for antelope.

Kevin Kitili

SEO Specialist
Kevin is the behind-the-scenes strategist who makes sure Safari Kenya Explorer reaches readers around the world. He enjoys turning complex data into simple insights and believes good content deserves to be found—not forced.

Hobbies: Football, analytics, tech blogs, problem-solving

Fun fact: Kevin once optimized a page so well that even he couldn’t explain how it ranked first.

Faith Wairimu

Head of Content
Faith shapes the voice and soul of Safari Kenya Explorer. She loves turning real-life experiences into clear, engaging stories that help readers feel confident planning their safaris.

Hobbies: Writing, reading, creative storytelling, travel research

Fun fact: Faith edits sentences in her head—even during casual conversations.

Esther Mwikali

Travel Coordinator & Project Manager
Esther is the calm force that keeps everything moving. She coordinates projects, timelines, and logistics while making sure no detail is overlooked.

Hobbies: Travel planning, organization, cultural exploration

Fun fact: Esther plans trips so efficiently that she rarely forgets anything—except sometimes her sunglasses.
Safari Kenya Explorer is, and will always remain, a reader-supported project.
